The Bureau of Planning and Economic Development has two part time limited term appointment positions available on Madison's near west side:

The Multi-Modal Transportation Planner LTE position will assist with long range transportation planning research and policy as well as support metropolitan and regional planning activities in the Metropolitan and Regional Planning Unit. This unit provides the statewide framework for Metropolitan and Regional Planning and administers activities performed by our Metropolitan Planning Organizations (MPO) and Regional Planning Commission partners.

The Transportation Planner LTE position will assist with statewide systems planning duties of the section. Programs worked with include the Transportation System Planning Program, which provides the statewide framework for long-range investment in transportation systems. In addition, the position supports the duties of the Department’s Bike and Pedestrian Coordinator.

There are three areas of focus related to bike and pedestrian planning activities in the section:

  1. Assist with tracking and mapping for the measurement of bicycle conditions in Wisconsin.
  2. Assist with logistics and research for the Governor’s Bicycle Council.
  3. Assist with additional research and mapping tasks as needed.

These positions are anticipated to work approximately 20 hours per week.
