Planners' Day at the Wisconsin State Capitol a success!

An enormous thank you to our legislative leadership Heather Cleveland and Allyson Watson Brunette and the many planners who attended a successful Planners Day at the Capitol and also to the many legislators and staff who graciously met with APA-WI! #plannersday.

Every year our legislators make decisions that affect the structure and function of Wisconsin communities - housing options, transportation safety, water quality, childcare opportunities, funding methods, and more. Their decisions are influenced by many interests, and community planners should be helping legislators see what we see through our work with data and people at the local level. 

We talked about the needs of Wisconsin communities - encouraging more diverse housing stock, planning for watersheds and transportation systems across municipal boundaries, and municipal funding challenges.

Plus we had a great warm-up discussion with Rep. Lori Palmeri - a planner and a legislator!
