December 2025 - Outgoing President's Message
As my term as APA-WI President comes to an end, I want to extend my sincere gratitude to our members, partners, and the dedicated board members who keep this chapter moving forward. It has been an honor to serve.
This year, we placed special emphasis on strengthening our ties with Wisconsin's planning programs—reconnecting with faculty and supporting student planning groups. Alongside that work, we renewed our commitment to reinvesting in student scholarships, ensuring the next generation of planners has the support they need to thrive.
I’m also proud of our continued progress in building a board that reflects our state. Whether you practice near our maritime shores of Lakes Superior and Michigan, in an agricultural or forested community, or in one of our bustling metro communities, your voice is shaping this chapter’s direction. That broad representation keeps us grounded and relevant.
Finally, we advanced important work to strengthen our organizational capacity and fiscal health—positioning APA-WI for long-term stability and success.
Thank you for your trust, your ideas, and your dedication to planning in Wisconsin. I leave this role confident in the chapter’s future and excited for what comes next. The chapter is in good hands.
With appreciation,
Kara Homan, AICP
